There was
once a girl.
A girl
clad in white.
And she
would paint
upon her
canvas.
She would
paint it yellow.
She would
paint it orange.
She
painted the sun.
She
painted flowers
that
danced in the light.
She would
paint her canvas with green.
She would
paint it with blue.
The trees
that stand tall.
The
endless blue sky.
And yet
her painting felt empty.
Her
painting felt lonely.
But one
day,
all that
changed.
She met a
boy.
A boy who
sang of joy.
A boy who
sang of peace.
She could
not help
but fall
in love with him.
He would
sing his love for her.
She would
paint her love for him.
Together
they would dance
within
their world of colors.
They
promised each other
that they
will not keep memories.
So they
can cherish their times together.
So that
they could leave if they have to.
Together
they sang.
Together
they painted.
Together
they danced.
And
together they loved.
She
painted of them walking
beneath
the stars.
She
painted of them being held
in each
other's arms.
They
painted their canvas with red,
they
painted it violet.
But for a
love meant to be,
their
tale didn't end happily.
On that
day,
she lost
everything.
On that
day,
her
paintings
gone.
And no
matter what he did,
she would
no longer paint.
She who
lost her colors,
She who
lost her songs,
She who
lost her dances,
is now
left with
but a
blank canvas.

Just a piece I've been working on for a while. I actually got the idea for this piece like by creating a story first before writing it. My usual style is to write the story from the poetry, in case y'all don't know.

What story? Well... This one! Wrote it up when I was supposed to be sleeping instead haha!

"How
I can know I can trust you?" she asked, letting go of his hand suddenly.
He was taken aback by her outburst but did not say anything. She stared at him
with eyes filled with doubt and yet, he did nothing but just simply stood where
he was.
"How
can I know that we were what you said? How can I believe anything you or anyone has said about us? I
can believe my family due to there being records. But there's nothing concrete
between us.
No
pictures. No letters. Nothing! So how can I know that you are indeed as you
claim to be? How would I know you're not simply taking advantage of me? How
would I know that you're exactly as how you're showing yourself to me right
now?
How? How
can I actually believe that we used to be lovers?" she screamed, tears
streaming down her cheeks. All her fears and uncertainties that she kept
bottled up finally broke through her usually calm demeanor.
He took
two steps closer to her and suddenly raised his hand. She quickly closed her
eyes and braced herself for an imminent slap. Maybe
this is how he really is, she thought. But what came next was not a slap
but a soft pat on her head. Slowly, she opened her eyes and saw him looking up
into the sky as he slowly patted her head. She could see a deep sadness within
his eyes. Closing his eyes, he let out a deep sigh. He took a step away from
her and turned to face her.
"Indeed.
There's nothing concrete between us. It was just an invisible bond. The me and
the you I knew, we have already painted our canvas. Our colors, our style,
we've already have filled our canvas with all our hearts. But the you now, you
are but a blank canvas. You, who lost and forgotten everything, were given the
chance to repaint your life again.
You can
paint it a different color. You can paint it a different way. You can even
paint it with someone else. What I
wanted was to show you the 'you' that I knew and loved. I wanted to show you
what she painted but, I guess, I was wrong to force you."
He turned
from her and started walking away. As tears fell from his eyes, he told her.
"Go
paint your blank canvas the way you want. I'll just take the painting that the
you I knew left me."
That day,
the autumn wind never felt so cold.
